REDUX, ART beat of the 60's

Event Dates: 11/1/2014 -

Reception: 11/1/2014 4:30 - 10:30pm

Location: Meydenbauer Center

Bellevue, WA

I am delighted to have been selected as a finalist in the William Radcliffe Studio Challenge, juried by Lloyd Herman.

When I'm sixty-four (collage, 9.5 " x 7")  shows the iconic image of Jacqueline Kennedy when she was young. Her image gets faded by layers of paper or layers of years. Here the woman image is not used as a publicity device, a consumer object (recurrent theme in Pop Art), or as a dehumanized object. On the contrary, When I'm sixty-four is a nostalgic view of a period that was super exciting and it is now over. This piece also renders the mistery of Jacqui's public image: she was young, pretty, elegant, and a mistery.
