I paint from second-hand photographs and the imagery found in art and photography books. Compositions are built from an evocative image to which other compositional elements are added without a plan or previous sketches. For most of the paintings in this exhibition, the triggering evocative images have been long time known sculptures. An important part of my focus is on the intimate relationship between the human figures and the sculpturing elements as they get transformed in the paintings.
